The Photographer Physician®

I visited Cuba via a sponsored medical research program, but I was most struck by the Cubans’ strong sense of vibrancy in all aspects of life.  Colors seemed brighter, affection was given freely, songs oozed with passion and emotion, music played from the heart, art felt created from the soul, and people danced with the fluidity of the water that surrounded the island.  However, somewhat contrasting the vibrant nature of Cuba, I also saw a level of contentment and peace in a lot of the peoples faces.  I was drawn to many images of faces gazing and people watching.

Seeing and feeling the faces of the people from a destination, truly allows me to fully experience them.  I felt it particularly important to create this photo series, as there is much mystery, intrigue, confusion and controversy surrounding the country of Cuba.
